How to store a new relationship

Answer:

1. Once your two objects are posed and positioned as desired
2. Select just those two objects and nothing else
3. Exit Free Positioning Mode if you are in it, and then click the 'Relationships' menu.
4. Select 'Store New Relationship'  give it a name and choose when it should be applied.
