Controlling Cameras Attached to an Adjustable Support

Question: How do camera controls work when the camera is attached to a crane, boom or other piece of adjustable grip equipment?

In this case, using the Camera Conrol Orbs adjusts the camera object only—for example, using the Rotate Orb rotates the camera but not the support, as would happen with a prop (non-functional) camera mounted on the same support.
