Having the camera "see through" objects on set

Question:  Can I prevent an object from blocking a shot without actually moving or deleting the object from the set?

If you've created a sound stage-type set with moveable flats for walls, FrameForge allows you to "hide" a wall from a particular camera’s view without actually breaking your set or altering the view from any other camera. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Double-click the monitor of the desired camera to switch to Camera View mode for that camera.
  2. Click the front wall of the set. If the flat has doors or windows in it only a portion of the wall will actually be selected; this is because doors and windows automatically subdivide the wall into pieces. Don’t worry about it.
  3. Click the Hide Object from View button located to the left of the camera controls.
  4. The selected wall section becomes invisible to the camera. If necessary, select other wall sections and repeat steps 2 and 3 until you can see the objects on the set to your satisfaction.
