Question: If I resize an object and lose all the relationships for it, can I get them back again?

Yes. The simplest way is to select the resized object, then click the <Reset> button on the Scale Object Control; this will reset all the bones as well, reestablishing the predefined relationships between that object and all other standard-sized objects.
