Answer:

1. Click the [#] button to the left of the scale multi-throttle.  The numeric object sizing dialog opens.
2. Uncheck the "Maintain Current Aspect Ration" box
3. Type the value you want into any of the three axis input fields, or use the up/down arrow buttons.  Only the deliberately-modified axis lengths will change.
4. Click [Apply] to exit this dialog and apply the settings you've changed.
